Over The Rainbow, on Sunday 20th July, was a commemoration of the devastating floods Tewkesbury suffered in 2007. The event was designed to demonstrate how the town has moved on and is very much open for business. A series of events were held during the week, culminating in an all day concert, family day out and firework display on Sunday afternoon/evening.

Leisurelec was a partner in the planning of the event, and sole provider of sound, lighting and power distribution for the day’s events.

The stage system comprised a 10k Mackie active system with 1530z mid/top cabs and 1801 sub bass bins and 3k of Yamaha stage monitors with a Soundcraft GB4 24channel desk and a full rack of Yamaha and TC effects.

Stage lighting comprised Martin Mini Macs, Martin Robe Scans, LED Par 64's and a Fat Frog desk.

We had the complex task of lighting the Abbey building to complement both the firework display and the stage. Illuminations were controlled by a Strand 48GSX, and comprised the latest in LED battens from BatMink, Par 64's for highlighting details in the stonework, Strand 5k Bambini's and a Spaceflower STI3000, with a total of over 58,000 watts of lighting deployed.

The compliments received were many and varied, with the Abbey now showing an interest in more exterior lighting effects for their functions and events.
